Our aim in Reception is to ensure all children are happy, confident, secure and valued. Children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and learn through a range of adult led and child initiated activities, which are both practical and challenging. Progress is carefully monitored and each child’s next steps are planned accordingly. If you are ever worried or there is anything that we can do to help please come and see us.

Here is some useful information for the year ahead:
Our school day begins at 8.45 am and finishes at 3.15pm. Please try to come in to school in the morning and help your child to prepare for the day ahead. Please inform us if somebody different will be picking up your child.
Each day the children will be given a healthy snack, milk and a piece of fruit. The charge for this is 10p per day or 50p per week. If you pay a pound on a Monday you can also have a bag of tuck on a Friday.
Reading books will be sent home for you to read with your child in the first few months. Please try to read these books every day, look at the pictures and talk about the story. Thinking about the characters, the setting and the story events are important steps in helping your child to learn to read. You can change their books daily and record the new one in their reading record. Please also try to make a comment about what you have done with your child so that we can talk to them about it too.
We will be learning lots of new and exciting things this year and look forward to working with you and your children.
